With winter temperatures well and truly setting in, many local anglers have witnessed a decline in bites and activity to match that of falling air temperatures.
However, for members of Newton Abbot Fishing Association, impressive catches are still being recorded. Only last week, local pleasure anglers John and Liam Dore bagged an impressive combined total of 9 Carp from Rackerhayes' Wheel Pond up to the 9lb mark in a short afternoon session.
Furthermore, reports of predatory species catches are on the up, with many of Newton's waters producing an increasing number of Pike as the cold weather sets in.
